| The Technology and Information Literacy Initiative, or
TILI, is a an innovative program that seamlessly blends technology
and technology training, information literacy training, bibliographic
instruction, support resources, and other electronic information
tools to buttress the learning process. TILI has three main
components: Campus-based computing laboratories at Cuyahoga
Community College (CCC), computing laboratories and specialized
programming located throughout the Greater Cleveland area,
and the TILI Portal.
The TILI Portal is a dynamic online experience for CCC students
and faculty, K-12 students, and community users. The TILI
Portal creates a virtual learning community for these different
user groups, and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a
week, from any computer equipped with an Internet connection.
For CCC students and faculty, the TILI Portal presents students
and faculty with research and instructional resources to support
the CCC curriculum. By providing faculty and students with
greater opportunities to understand how people learn, and
by offering tools to help them learn more effectively and
succeed at CCC, TILI offers clear and valuable sources to
support the process of lifelong learning.
TILI enhances CCC's ability to provide instruction through
the platform of technology. The Portal supports Campus-based
and Distance Learning classes with high quality resources
to augment those physically found at CCC. Current innovative
technologies and links to tutorials or classes on their use
are made available to faculty along with technology and information
literacy training to enable both students and faculty to better
assess their need for information and effectively make use
of the information that they locate.
TILI Sponsors
Many TILI projects are generously supported through grant funds.
Cuyahoga Community College wishes to thank the Ohio Board of Regents, the
Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Learning Network, and the SBC Corporation,
